Use Late Enrollment

  • In this article, we will explain what late enrollment is and how it can be used in your LMS

What is Late Enrollment?

If a student needs to enroll in one of your courses after the course has begun, it allows them to complete the full course in a condensed time frame. Late enrolling a student will give them individualized due dates to pace all course assignments from their enrollment date to the course end date.

What is the difference between Late Enrollment and Custom Placement?

Late Enrollment and Custom Placement are two great ways to pace students through the remainder of their courses. This chart shows the difference between each, that way you can make an informed decision on which you will use to pace students through courses in your LMS.

Late Enrollment Custom Placement
  • Adjusts assignment due dates for students to complete course assignments from their enrollment date to the course end date
  • Students are required to complete all assignments in the course (unless excused or unassigned)
  • Need to ask your Partner Success Manager to enable it in your LMS
  • Excuses students from all ungraded assignments preceding their placement in the course
  • Students are required to complete all assignments after their placement in the course (unless excused or unassigned)
  • Can be turned on by an admin in your LMS.
