- In this article we will explain the types of alerts you'll receive on your dashboard.
Alerts are generated when students work on assignments in your course that require an action on your part that is different from grading.
On your dashboard, click the text under Alerts in the top right hand corner.
There are three types of alerts you will receive. Each type will list the student and assignment the alert is for, the course that student is in, the time they triggered the alert, and the details of the alert.
- Max Attempts & Minimum Score Not Reached
- This alert is triggered when a student has not met the minimum score required by the Passing Threshold for the assignment, and the student has used all the attempts allowed for the assignment.
- Under Details, you will see the last score the student obtained.
- As a teacher, you can decide how best to help this student continue along in the course.
For example:

- Student Responded To A Discussion Board
- This alert is triggered when a student posts a response to a discussion board, such as responding to another student's discussion board post.
- Under Details, you will see the text of the student's response to the discussion board.
- As a teacher, you can click on the assignment to view the discussion board responses and add more to the discussion.

- Student Commented On An Assignment
- This alert is triggered when a student posts a submission comment on an assignment.
- Under Details, you will see the text of the student's comment on the assignment.
- As a teacher, you can click on the assignment to respond back to that student's comment.
- This alert is triggered when a student posts a submission comment on an assignment.
