Move Existing Students Into a New Course

  • In this article, we will show you how to move students you had from a previous version of a course into a new version of that course
  1. Accept your course invite

    You can either accept your course invite from your email or from your LMS dashboard.
    Check your email for a course invitation.
    Click Get Started.

    Or from your dashboard, click Accept.

  2. Add existing students to your course

    In your new course, click the People tab.

    Then click + People.

    Select the method 
    you want to add users.
    Then type in the identifier 
    for the students you want to add and click Next.

    Note

    If the students don't have existing accounts, you will be prompted to fill in information to create accounts for them before adding them to the course.

    Click Add Users.

  3. Enter student grades

    Click the Grades tab.

    Under an assignment, click the box for the corresponding student to enter their grade.

    Type in the grade the student received for this assignment.
    Continue to type in the grades for each student's completed assignments.

    Note

    When students accept their new course invite, they will need to start at the beginning of the course and click through.

    This means that for assignments like workbooks and checkpoints, you should instruct students to select the first answer choice for each question and submit.

    The grade you manually entered for that student will not be affected.
