Create a Quiz

  • In this article, we will show you how to create a quiz for your course

 

1. Click Courses on the left hand side, then click All Courses.

    If you're an admin, make sure you have selected the correct school
    and course within that school.

2. Select the course you want to create a quiz for. 
     Click the Quizzes tab.
     If you have yet to create a quiz for this course, the Quizzes tab will be grayed out.

3. Then click + Quiz.

4. Fill in a quiz title, description, quiz type and assignment group.

Note

There are four different quiz types to choose from.

  • A graded quiz will give students points based on their graded responses.
  • A practice quiz will allow students to test out how well they understand the material without a grade.
  • A graded survey will give students points for completing a survey. There are no correct or incorrect answers. 
  • A practice survey will allow students to give their opinions without a grade.

5. Continue to fill in the optional fields.

6. Click the Questions tab.

7. Then click + New Question.
    If you've created a quiz question bank, click Find Questions to add a question from there.

8. Fill in the question name, question type, points and text of the question.

9. If you selected a question type that requires students to select answers, type in answer choices.
    Click the green arrow to select a correct answer.
    Then click Update Question.

Note

Any questions you create will be available to be reused in future quizzes.

You can also add comments to answer choices for students to read after they select an answer.
Click the comment icons under each answer choice to add a comment for that answer.

Or click the comment icons at the bottom to add comments for each answer choice type (right answers, wrong answers, all answers).

After you've added all the questions you want, click Save & Publish.

Note

Then you will see your published quiz details in the Quizzes tab. Click Preview to view the quiz as a student would.
