Manage Module Settings

  • In this article, we will show you how to edit the settings for modules in a course

Note

Managing module settings allows teachers to adjust the way students progress through lessons in a course. You can choose to require students to view the lesson, contribute to a discussion, submit an assignment or earn a set score before progressing onto the next lesson.

1. Click Courses on the left hand side, then click All Courses.
         If you're an admin, make sure you have selected the correct school
         and course within that school. Select the course you want to work in. 
2. Click the Modules tab.

3. Click the gear icon next to the module you want to edit.
    Then click Edit.

In Edit Module settings, you have a few options:

Lock the module until a specific date.
Click the box next to Lock until.
Then select a date.
Click Update Module.

Select what a student must do in order to move onto the following content.
Click the drop-down next to the content.

Select from the menu.
Then click Update Module.

Note

The requirement options are:
View the item requires students to view the content.
Mark as done requires students to mark the assignment or page as done.
Contribute to the page requires students to post a reply to a non-graded discussion or contribute to a page (if the page is editable for students).
Submit the assignment requires students to submit an assignment, post a reply to a graded discussion, or submit a quiz.
Score at least requires students to meet a defined minimum score.

Note

If your course is active, you can choose to allow students to continue in the course (by clicking Continue) or re-lock the modules until students complete your added requirements (by clicking Re-Lock Modules).
