Objective: To understand the components of the Academic Classrooms.

Academic Classrooms provide students, teachers, and parents a virtual space dedicated to engagement, resource sharing, and collaboration to enhance StrongMind Central experience. 

Features of the Academic Classroom

Classrooms are automatically created from the LMS course enrollments. The image below models a sample classroom.

  1. Classroom Navigation: 
    • Discussions: Main landing area to post and respond to class discussions
    • Resources: Area for moderator and/or teacher to upload resources for the class
    • Events: Calendar for live synchronous sessions (1:1, whole class, etc.)
    • Members: Lists all students, guardians, teachers, and moderators in the group
    • Admins: Visible only to teachers and moderators, provides settings and customizations for the classroom.
  2. Discussion Post: Classroom members can post a discussion. Moderators can add a photo, video, or use the magic wand to generate a sample prompt.
  3. Highlighted Discussion: Moderators can pin and highlight one discussion entry to appear at the top of the page.
  4. User Profile: Persistent on all pages, the profile allows the users to update interests and personal information.
  5. Launch Course: Single-sign-on (SSO) directly into the LMS classroom to access content.
  6. Welcome Message: Created by the moderator, this can be customized for each classroom.
  7. Group Moderators: Lists all moderators in the classroom. Teachers are automatically enrolled as moderators. Additional users can be added as moderators once a member in the classroom.
  8. Group Rules: Customized by the teacher/moderator, rules can be added to each classroom.
