What is the difference between Log Entries and Incident Management?
Log Entries and Incident Management are two great ways to note student behavior in PowerSchool. This chart shows the difference between each, that way you can make an informed decision on which you will use in PowerSchool.

Record the actions of or interactions with an individual student
Discipline issues
Counselor meetings
Health issues
Attendance Concerns
Communication logs
Record the interaction between

in relation to a disciplinary incident.
CREATE A LOG ENTRY
Note:When setting up group security preferences, the PowerSchool SIS Administrator selects which log types members of each security group may access.
On the Start Page, search for and select the student
In the Administration section, click Log Entries
Click New
Edit the Date & Time and Author fields
Choose a log type
Choose a subtype [This is optional but helpful as it defines the entry further]
Choose a consequence if the entry is discipline related
Enter a title for the entry Note: The log type doesn’t appear on the Log Entries pages, so use the Title field to describe the meeting or session with the student.
Enter log entry text to describe the meeting in more detail, such as who attended, problems resolved, or decisions made
Enter an action date, if needed
Complete any required compliance reporting and/or civil rights data collection information
Click Submit
CREATE AN INCIDENT REPORT
On the Start Page, click Special Functions > Incident Management
Below the "Incident Counts by Behavior" area, click the Create Incident arrow and choose either a quick or detailed incident.
