Mute Assignments Using SpeedGrader

  • In this article, we will show you how to mute notifications on an assignment using SpeedGrader

Note

Muting an assignment allows teachers to grade and comment on assignments without immediately notifying students. When an assignment is muted, students will not recieve any notifications regarding changes to their grade or score, curve of an assignment, or submission comments.

Once a teacher is finished grading and ready for students to receive notifications, they can unmute the assignment.

  1. Click Courses on the left hand side, then click All Courses.
    • If you're an admin, make sure you have selected the correct school
      and course within that school.
  2. Select the course you want to work in.
    Click the Assignments tab.

    Then select the assignment you want to grade.

  3. Click SpeedGrader.

    Click the bell icon.

    Click Mute Assignment.

    Note

    Then you will see the assignment is muted. You can grade your students' assignments and add comments.

    When you are ready for students to receive notifications for the assignment, click Unmute Assignment.
